 *Wheel hub

Truck hub units, which contain two tapered roller bearings, are pre-adjusted, greased and sealed at the factory in order to simplify installation. They are designed to withstand typical harsh operating conditions and require less maintenance than the conventional wheel bearing sets they replace. Some variants have an integrated impulse ring which makes some variants suitable for use with anti-lock braking systems. The units can also save time and cost during brake maintenance.

The hub and shaft oil seals should be inspected and replaced periodically if the trucks are driven long distances. Since the hub and shaft oil seals are used at such locations, the possibility of deterioration and wear is that much higher. In case that the inside grease runs out or the hub bearing are damaged, and by this fire and other incidents occur, the truck will be unable to run.

 

 

 

 *Wheel Hub Oil Seal

 

In general, most double tires equipped in truck vehicles have a hub seal (inner) and a shaft seal (outer).
The hub seal prevents grease from leaking into the hub bearing and also prevents water and foreign substances from penetrating from the outside. They require press-fit when installing it.
The shaft seal prevents leaks of hub bearing grease and also prevents differential oil from penetrating into the hub bearing. It does not necessarily require press-fit. It is strongly recommended that the hub seal (inner) and shaft seal (outer) be replaced at the same time.
